Cole Creek Campground provided a wonderful experience. The lakefront sites offered stunning panoramic views at my site while the clean facilities and complimentary hot showers were a welcome touch. We particularly enjoyed the calm, clear lake and the convenience of electric hookups. Mrs Marian and Mr Rick delivered outstanding hospitality and, making for a truly peaceful and comfortable natural escape

Majority of sites are excellent. Shower houses are awesome. Bathrooms are very clean & well kept. Beautiful views of the lake. Beach is great!'

The site was beautifully maintained. We didn't have any issues while we were there. My only concern is the lack of amenities. When you are tent camping with a heat index over 110, having to drive 30 min just for ice, is close to impossible. By the time you get back, the majority of it has melted. We believe that if they could get one of the individual ice kiosks on the property, they would gain more attention from campers. We didn't mind driving for firewood as that's a one time thing. However, you have to refill your ice daily when it's that hot outside.
The lack was yucky on the bottom once you got so far out, but that's not something that can be controlled. Just make sure you have your water shoes.

This was my first camping trip and I had the most welcome from the camp host and the environment was great and I would definitely camp there again but I am hoping that they will get an ice machine or store for people who don't have a car . The camp host went out of there and I truly appreciate it and thank you again.

From I-57, take Old U.S. Route 50 west for 19 miles through Salem, Odin and Sandoval. Turn north on Boulder Road and continue for 4 miles, then turn onto 1700 and continue until the road connects with 2400. Continue south to the Coles Creek entrance. Address: 16225 Coles Creek RD, Carlyle, IL 62231
Coles Creek Campground is accessible via I-57, located approximately 19 miles to the east, with access via Old U.S. Route 50. Major roads leading to the campground include Boulder Road and 1700.

- No personal checks or cash are accepted at this time. Credit/Debit card only.
- Camping No-Show - Camping no-show customers who do not arrive at the campground or group facility by check-out time the day after arrival or does not cancel the reservation by check out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date will be assessed a $20.00 service fee and forfeit the first night use fee. If the no-show service fee is greater than the reservation amount, the customer will not be charged any additional service fees.
- Cancellation Fees - A $10 service fee is withheld from the refund anytime the customer cancels a camping or day use reservation. Depending on when the cancellation is made, it may be considered a late cancellation and additional fees may be forfeited. A customer who cancels a reservation the day before or on the day of arrival will pay a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night's use fee (not to exceed the total paid for the original reservation). Cancellations for a one-night reservation will forfeit the entire amount paid and will not be subject to an additional service fee.
- Firewood brought into this facility must be purchased, or collected locally due to invasive insects.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
