What Guests Are Saying
Dam West Campground offers large, clean sites, many with beautiful lake views, and is well-maintained with friendly, helpful staff. Guests appreciate the calm lake for activities like boating and swimming, as well as the nearby town amenities. While there is only one dump station, leading to potential wait times, overall experiences are positive, making it a favorite destination for campers.

My brother reserved camp site 69 at West dam camp grounds. We got pushed out early by host due to new campers coming in before our scheduled leave at 4p.m
We proceeded to reserve a 2nd camp grounds where we were profiled and harassed.the staff peaks in your windows walking around the camp site we were told they were allowed to do this. Totally unacceptable in the 40 years that I have camped these past 8 days have been the worst experience of my life time the staff that makes the rules needs to be retrained send them to school they seem to have forgotten that rules apply to everyone but they seem to have people that are friends with the staff and allowed to do as they please while the staff turns there head, enforcing rules on the new guys constant harassment I feel me and my family were treated poorly and I hope that the people in charge of this staff at Carlyle campgrounds West step up to the plate and fix the malpractice.

We have been to several army corps campgrounds but Dam West is our favorite overall! The little cleaning lady for the shower house does an amazing job!

Such an amazing and beautiful campground! Many sites with water view and a decent amount right on the water. The sites are very large and the host was super friendly and organized. One of our top favorite campsites US wide.
