So very glad to read that you are repaving some of the pads.
A level pad, removing the tire ruts from years of campers, will definitely improve the experience.
Absolutely gorgeous views of the lake in this loop.
Excellent friendly & helpful hosts

The camp grounds are always clean and neat. We enjoy North Sandusky very much. We normally camp during the weekdays and the camp sites are more sparsely occupied. It is quiet and relaxing.

Site Wood 043 was a very large, shaded, level site with full hook-up and a beautiful water view. The shoreline was steep with large rocks at the waters edge. Launching our kayaks was not a doable from this site. We did, tho, use the campground boat ramp which was nice. There's also a paved bike trail. This site had a visiting owl. This was very unique. We also saw deer, turkeys, an a coyote on our bike rides. We would recommend North Sandusky Campground site Wood 043.

The view of the lake is great. The site needs help. Rain has caused some dirt to erode over time. The area around picnic table is where the water goes - & making the site muddy. The fire ring is staring to rust thru. The site is one we plan to revisit - it just needs some updating and a little love. I have brought two 5 gallon buckets of rocks the last 2 year to help with the areas by the drive and concrete pad.
**When you see a problem with a site - please let the main office personnel know - it will help your fellow campers in the future.

Great campsites, convenient to several restaurants. This was our first time here and I should have realized a campground loop called Sweet Gum might have several of the trees dropping the spiky balls of terror all over the place. I nearly slipped several times while walking around the campsite. Lesson learned! It was quiet and peaceful even in July. The restroom/shower rooms were adequate with good water pressure and heat. They aren't air-conditioned so they were very muggy and never had hand soap or a functioning hand dryer. These were minor inconveniences and easily adapted to. We will definitely be returning and will aim for the full hook-up sites, especially because the dump stations do NOT have a good way to flush your black tank - that was the only serious complaint I would have with this campground. More hiking trails would be nice but I imagine most people come for the lake. We saw lots of deer, wild turkeys, and groundhogs on this trip.
