Very nice site with large spacing between other campers. Campground was very well taken care of with awesome bike trail. Wish there would have been more full hookup options to camp at. Will definitely be camping here again.

Sites are clean and free of debris. The wood named sections of North Sandusky have large sites and flat even pads. The bathroom/showers are clean with plenty of hot water. The staff are friendly and well informed.

We tent camped at Rend Lake - originally trying for South Sandusky, however everything showed reserved except for one location 115 at north Sandusky.
It was afternoon when we finally booked this reservation and set up camp.
It was clean and mainly RV style camping as we wanted electricity at our camp site.
When we checked in the next day, no one informed us that almost all the sites were cancelled and we could have moved our site. It also didn't show up on Recreation.gov.
On the second day of camping, a 15 minute pop up storm hit.
As I was sitting at my site, I looked up and saw a dead fall tree.
I looked a second time and heard a quick crack. As fast as possible u ran! (I mean RAN!)
In a flash, the tree feel on everything, killing 2 tents, all cooking gear, tarps, chairs, bedding food - everything (but me!) smashed/ruined.
We were offered a refund and an apology.
It has been over a week, I called the folks regarding getting some compensation from the Conservancy, but no return calls. There was supposed to be a report filed. Nothing.
My insurance company has a $1000 deductible on my homeowners policy, so that doesn't help me. they paid for the damage to my car.
I am mad because this wasn't my fault! I am out more that $1000 in gear. The best that the Ran gets did was call me to let me know that damaged garbage was still at the site (we couldn't fit the trash in our car and no dumpster was in walkable distance...in the rain....really?!)
So in summary the only good that came out of this was I met the guy who had his RV reserved for the said space, but he moved because he was informed that there were many sites actually opened. I can only imaging the cost that would have been associated with his $200,000RV.
I still have nightmares but had only minor scratches so I am "ok" I guess
I thought that considering the severity of the damage (including concrete picnic table smashed), that we would have been offered some comfort and compensation for our stress and loss.
