Campground was was nice. We had a good time. Nice staff. Only thing we can complain about is the bathroom needed cleaning. It’s the one that was just a commode and sink, not the shower one. We didn’t see that one

We were first-timers, and the attendant was wonderful explaining everything. The campgrounds are pristine! The bike pathway was a wonderful addition to our experience. We bought a lifetime pass. DuQuoin is nearby, and we heartily recommend a visit to the St. Nicholas Brewery - great food!

I read previous comments about the site was not level. That was an understatement. Very poor. Sloped very bad. Had camper on several blocks but it was still bad. Just walking across the site was bad. Beautiful loop and campground but this site is terrible. Spaced well away from others but not worth the pitch. T-Mobile and AT&T reception poor. Love the bike trails.

Site 171 is a top 5 for us. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and peaceful setting South Sandusky campground provided us. The views of Rend Lake and opportunity to catch some bluegill made for the most relaxing weekend. Our dogs enjoyed our morning and night walks around the campground. We did have a sneaky raccoon that was quite the opportunist and came right into our campsite. Be sure to put all trash away when you aren’t out at your campsite.

We had a very pleasant week. We pulled a small camper so we didn't have a boat to fish out of, however we still had a very relaxing and enjoyable time.
