Something honestly needs to be done about the raccoons at this campground. Booked a 4 day stay and ended up leaving early because of the raccoons. Been coming to Rend Lake my entire life every summer and never seen it this bad. Every night we were there was sleepless because of the shear number of raccoons coming onto the site tearing everything up. One even got into the tent with small children in it. No food was left out everything was stored properly and still they were insistent and aggressive. Ended the trip throwing over $400 of gear in the dumpster. As much as I love this lake I won't be back. Yes you are gonna deal with animals while camping but there is also a point where they become a nuisance and something needs done before someone gets hurt. The raccoon that came into the tent was snarling and showing teeth with a 3 and 4 year old who are both now terrified.

Pine Tree is always a favorite of mine as I love the tall pines. Our favorite this trip was the bike paths...so well maintained. We were also blessed to hit about an hour of solid crappie action while fishing from kayaks and shore.

BEV at the gate is one very caring..helpful and considerate person. She goes out of her way to accommodate the people staying at the campsite. Her husband also went beyond to help and make my stay much more enjoyable

Site#206 has full sun between 2-6 pm, as in the entire pad, and the picnic table area has full sun most of the day, even though it is listed as full shade; the rest of the time is marbled shade. Sites #54 and 53 in North Sandusky have basically zero shade, because the trees around them are dead or dying. These Rend Lake parks are stunning, the employees are top-notch, and the wildlife alone is worth the trip, but the site descriptions must be updated to reflect actual conditions, and the bathhouses need repair (like working vent fans in showers.) Site #206 is relatively flat, somewhat challenging hookups (most in the campgrounds are spread far apart,) a lovely cement pad to include the picnic area, and space for a tent on the pad side. The pad and picnic area are wheelchair accessible. The hookup side is a steep slope into the woods. The bathhouse in the next loop over is worth the trip.
