Pinetree site 83 (and those in that area) are fantastic - among our favorites in South Sandusky. We have camped here several times. FHU site with great gravel pad, nice water view, good water, and clean fire pit. We were there for 2 weeks, and twice workers came around to clean fire pits. Grounds all around are clean, check-in guy was friendly. We love camping here and have always made new reservations.

Site 230 leans a little to port and not too bad towards the front. My power manager showed 124 volts with zero errors. Sites at the front of the loop seem closer together and those at the back are well separated.Good access to the bike trail. The bathrooms were cleaned every day at 5:30 AM.

Never been here before in all my years of camping at recreation.gov since 2007? Unpleasant because I regularly camp at recreation.gov since before 2008. Every campground is different but hosts usually do not require to check-in at booth. other recreation.gov campgrounds and even some on Illinois Iowa border are completely online reservations. The signs indicate if no reservation to goto fee booth, is only open a couple hours everyday with a break inbetween. It kinda makes you think that if you have an online reservation that you dont really have to goto the fee booth because we already paid and signed up online and other recreation.gov campgrounds and even state do not require it when you pay online to check-in. We got harassed by park ranger banging on our door after 10pm the second night, even though we paid several weeks in advance, because they wanted us to goto fee booth to check-in the nextday. was not open at the time when park ranger came by after 10pm. It happened to be the night of my sons birthday. Kinda scared him with persistent banging on the door by a park ranger until I woke up after 10pm. Why not a simple note to checkin during morning. I did walkover and even at 11 am the fee booth was still not open until 2pm! And only open until 6pm with 1 hour break? Not very long when other recreation.gov campgrounds will come talk to you during daylight hours or talk to you the nextday (not late at night?).

Such a clean and well kept campground. The sycamore loop was nice and quiet even though it was full. Friendly & helpful front gate attendant. Beusotful trees, biking/walking path, tons of grassy areas, the spaces are spaced well
