Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the ample opportunities for boating and biking in the area. However, some noted the limitations in fishing access, crowded weekends, and the condition of restrooms, suggesting areas for improvement. Overall, it remains a favored destination for camping enthusiasts.

Bo Woods campground at Lake Shelbyville is our favorite camping spot. It's always clean and well kept, and has lots of full hookups.

This campground is in a great location. We camp here often but we had family from up north with us this time. We swam, boating and did some fishing. We did catch fish. The Amish country is not too far from this campground and we went up there for a day. Even the kids enjoyed that. I recommend Bo woods to anyone wanting to camp on Lake Shelbyville.

Overall the campground is nice. The cleanliness and proper function of the restroom and shower houses leaves quite a bit to be desired. I have to assume the state funding is to blame. We'll probably stay here again, but the state of the facilities needs some attention.

Preface: Our review is based on the following lifestyle. We are full-time RVers simply travelling to see the US and not vacationing. We generally spend 3-14 nights in any CG and move on. Our priority in selecting a CG is: America the Beautiful Senior Pass discounts, then Military CGs, City, County, then State Parks. Commercial CGs are our last choice.
General Overview: The route in has easy access. The roads were adequate with no difficulties inside the park. We stayed 4 nights at this park at Site #70. Electric ONLY hook-ups with steady 50 amp service. Other sections of the CG have electric and water or electric, water, and sewer. This park/CG was very busy. Our site was on a gravel surface with tiny gray rock patio surface. To level we had to elevated front wheels 6”. Exiting the RV required a stool with two additional levels. The patio area has a nice picnic table, fire ring, and lantern/trash pole. Very few of the sights have a view of the lake with site 28, in my opinion having the best lake view in the CG. There are restrooms in this section that were busy and best frequented immediate after cleaning (about 9:30 a.m.). The floors in the bathhouse are not graded properly and you end up having pools of water in various areas of the floor . There is not a designated dog park in this area of the CG. Trash collection is a dumpster located in the vicinity of the bathhouse. AT&T and Verizon service were both available usually with two of four bars.
