Campground is kept very well. Cleaning the Bath houses properly might be one thing that could use improvement. Otherwise great place to camp. Spots 54 through 78 can get very windy just an FYI. One thing that is annoying is many locals from the area (IA and IL) like to drive through a lot, creating much unnecessary traffic. Otherwise love it.

Thomson Causeway is a well kept RV Park with direct access to one of the best bike paths in Illinois. Stayed here many, many times. Stays pretty well full in Summer, plan ahead. It also has a boat ramp is directly on the Mississippi River (pool 13)

We had a lovely stay at Rivets Birch Loop. The other two loops were still closed due to the recent flood and cleanup required.
The location is great as there is a lot to do. The only thing that caused a bit of a challenge were the gnats, bugs and mosquitoes but that we figured was due to the still waters surrounding the loop.

Excellent site and well maintained. Nice walk down to the river and the sites are tree covered.

Overnight stay only, site was clean and level, electric only. Water at entrance in dump station area, several spigots throughout loop. Restrooms with showers within walking distance. Vault toilet in the vicinity. Pleasant and helpful volunteer at the entrance. For our preferences, wont come back but is a good place. Jun, 23.

We stayed for the first time at Thomson Causeway COE. The website was not in my opinion very accurate with a few things. First of all they make everything look spread out and it is just the opposite. The sites are very close. Also we spent time filling out fresh water tank at the dump/fill station only to find water hookup at our site 123. It also turned out this was a buddy site which was not disclosed during the booking process. This made for extremely tight sites and no real place to hang outside if we wanted too. Our site was right on the water but the views were completely blocked by trees with a lot of under growth. It would be great if the undergrowth was removed. The bugs were horrible. Mayflies and mosquitos would carry you away as soon as you opened the rv door. Needless to say we stayed inside all weekend.
The camp was clean and quiet and the dump station was also clean, but there really is nothing to do around the area, so if you cant sit outside and enjoy the view of the Mississippi then there really is nothing else to do.
We will not be going back. I hope all COE campgrounds are not like this. We camped at Thomson Causeway in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful sites. I love that there is water at every site. I wish the area would be sprayed for mosquitoes.
