A perfect place to camp; large sites, quiet, beautiful views, great walking and biking paths and not too far from shopping and restaurants. COE campgrounds are my favorites!

We love Gun Creek on Rend Lake In southern Illinois. Always, clean, well-managed. Only minor complaint...some of the sites aren't level. Doesn't affect us much since our RV is small but I have seen some 5th Wheels and motor homes jacked way up in the front so make their units level.

Camp hosts were great Helpful to a first time visitor. Bathroom were very clean

Only problem dead trees above my camp site. Big branches fell near my vehicle. There was high winds but dead trees need to be taken down

The campsite was mostly level and a big side yard. It also had a great view of the lake. We will definitely go back.

We had a great site, #27. Wonderful view and FHU. The pad is unlevel, we had to put 3" of boards on the street side of the camper. Weather wasn't the greatest, so we plan on visiting this campground again in the future.

We loved our weekend at Gun Creek for the eclipse. We found the shower house to be clean with plenty of hot water. The neighbors near us were respectful and fun. Though the campground was almost full it didn't feel crowded.

We always enjoy Gun Creek. We grab some white pie (or any of their other great flavors) at Burton’s Cafe and frozen custard in Sesser.
