This is a new place for me, and it went way beyond my expectations for a National Recreation Area. I'm used to Zilpo in the Boone that kind of a hole because it's ran by contracted companies. It was fantastic, just like the rest of the Hoosier State.

They had a toilet in the men’s bathroom that was leaking water everywhere , also there were someone near us with a whole bunch of dogs that wouldn’t stop barking one even went off leash and was running around . Overall great experience and will continue to go back .

Site was nice. Flat gravel area to camp on. However the shower house was closed and has been for years. No notice on site when you reserve. Still shows on map as an active shower house. Bathroom is a single room with no light. Need some updating for sure.

The campsite was quiet, peaceful, and felt very private since the sites were spread out well. The camp host was very friendly and kept the outhouse stocked with toilet paper.
Be aware the sites are gravel, not dirt, so sleeping on the ground was rough without an air mattress. We were also disappointed the beach was closed and there weren’t many trails nearby. However, there was still plenty to do within a short drive.
Overall, we’d return again — just with an air mattress next time.

I love how quiet the campsites are. My only suggestion is to get rid of the in ground fire pits.

The showers and restroom were locked. We left a day early because of a strange man that kept walking past our campsite and staring at us. I won't be back.
