What Guests Are Saying

Manapogo Park offers beautiful lake views, helpful and friendly staff, and well-stocked facilities, making it a pleasant camping destination. However, the arrival process can be problematic, especially for walk-in guests, and the campground primarily caters to permanent campers, which may not suit transient visitors. Despite some challenges like flooding and site layouts, many guests report enjoying their experiences and forming lasting friendships.

This park is mostly permanent campers but they had nice sites available for walk-ins. Great accommodations and a beautiful view of the lake from our site. The one and only reason I rated it low was the really poor arrival we experienced. We made a day of reservation as we were traveling home. Paid ahead and received an email confirmation. No real arrival info. We pulled in around 6 pm so I wasn’t surprised when the office was closed. We had no instructions on how to get through the entrance gate. Pushed the call button at the gate multiple times with no response, called the phone number on the reservation. Again, no answer, no instructions. I finally walked in and found a resident who loaned me his gate card!! When I said no one was responding to ring and calls, his response was simply “unsurprising.” I would book here again but it’s definitely on you to make sure you know how you’re getting in.

Under new management since beginning of 2025. Sometimes the beach/lake gets flooded and gross or has ecoli or seagull poop. Certain sites flood. The store has weird hours. Sometimes you get rowdy overnight guests that keep you up late. New management means HUGE raise in prices for seasonal guests. Yah sure you painted bathrooms, updated store, put a dog fence in, maybe a few little other changes. Sure next year a new shiney playground and some lake inflatables.Do you think any of these things matter more than THE FRIENDSHIPS made here and memories. NO they don't. Unfortunately you want it to be an overnight/weekend campground. Well guess what were you filled up or sold out more than 1 weekend this year? Nope. Unfortunately we are STUCK here because our camper can't be moved, and our kids are going to loose the BEST part of this place and that's the seasonal guests and lifetime friendships. THANKS ALOT.

Monopogo is a great place to camp. Management and staff are helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The staff does a great job making sure everything is stocked and clean.
It's very nice, the beach is big, plenty of elbow room.the lake is beautiful.
Lots of shade for the campers.
We can't wait to go back.

This is a surprisingly quiet campground given the number of campers. We had a little issue with the power buy were able to use a neighboring outlet. We notified the park of the bad outlet. I wasn't crazy about the site layouts. They had campers parked perpendicular to each other making it challenging to set up but we made it work. They did have some planned activities we joined in on and overall had a good time. They also have some of the best wifi available of any campground we have been to. They have a boat launch and nice beach area on lake pleasant and the camp store was well stocked and very nice. I would go back now knowing how the sites are layed out I can better choose a spot.

Staff was friendly, but... This is not a terribly good place to overnight if you are traveling through. The vast vast majority of people staying here are permanent. You feel like you are boondocking in someone's neighborhood. Someone was in our assigned spot and nobody ever answered the phone so we occupied some other spot. Just not really a good spot for people passing through.
