We were there to camp and boat for Labor Day weekend. The bugs were out of control at night. I know this isn’t at anyone’s fault but it shocked me how bad it was. The facilities were pretty gross. Covered in spiders and cobwebs, it just needed to be power washed. The thing that bothered me most is that we were in A camping and the facilities were over a mile drive away. I was a little weirded out to shower once it got dark as it felt super creepy. Overall the view was stunning but the other things mentioned just made it a deal breaker for me.

The bathrooms for loop B were not very clean. Also too many flying gnats or whatever they are . There were drifts of these in shower rooms. The water temperature was a bit too warm in those showers. Hard to bathe a child with such warm water. Overall, we love Prairie Ridge. Best campground around Lake Rathbun, in my opinion!

Thr lake is great, however this campground is not being maintained well at all. The roads are rock in, the campground is barely mowed, the shower houses have stopped being maintained, and they have left the beach that used to be nice to grow over with trees. They even quite maintaining access to the beach so you have to climb down washouts to get there.

Unfortunately the bugs are SOOOO bad this year. We couldn't even sit outside our camper without eating bugs. We packed up and left early. Check in people are always so nice so thank you to them.

It was good but the one thing I don’t understand is the 14 day rule. I was told I had to move campgrounds after my 14th day when in the whole campground I was the only one!? I can see when the campground is busy but for someone to have to move when the place is empty? You guys can surely do better on making policies that make sense don’t you thing? So I took my camper and $25 a night and went to the river. Way to lose money

Decent campground. The 2-3 mi of gravel road is rough and very dusty, so not ideal getting to the campground. The shower house/restrooms were not as clean as they should be.
Great fishing lake!

It was a good spot there was not shade like it said but all in all we loved it. Showers and bathrooms could use a spray down for all the spiders and cobwebs that were in there.

The campsite had a giant metal hook in the middle of the pad we kept tripping over, spot super unlevel, the shower house was filthy no soap only a broke hand sanitizer , it was shut down mid stay for sewage backup. Will not return.
