Very nice campground. A little busy with all the electric scooters riding everywhere, mostly kids going pretty fast. Nice views of the lake and easy access to the boat ramp.

This is a top notch campground. Easy access for my 5th wheel, nice beach, great fishing. During busy lake traffic it may be better to use the public boat ramp rather than the campground ramp. It was very difficult to hold the boat at the dock in all of the waves. The public ramp is much more protected.

Beautiful well cared for campground. The host/volunteer/staff were helpful and professional. The restroom was cleaned and sanitized daily. Plenty of things to do to keep occupied.

We had a pleasant and quiet week staying at West Overlook site #65. We enjoyed watching the activity on the water just behind our camper. Our site was nice and level with the cemented pad, but it was a bit crowded with the spaces along this area being so close to each other. The area and the restrooms/shower house were neat and clean. We were camping there during an extremely hot week this time around, and we know campers must accept the weather that comes with being outdoors and camping away from home. But we did find that with the standard electrical service being only 30 amp that we could only use one of our two roof mount air conditioners in our fifth wheel, and with temperatures reaching far above 90 degrees that week, the one unit simply could not cool the entire camper. Upgrading the service to 50 amp would make it much more accommodating for those with large campers, And some nice shade trees placed near the camping sites would help tremendously, and it would nice to see some young trees planted for the future of this area of West Overlook. Other than that small inconvenience we really did enjoy our stay at this campground.

Have been camping there for years and we love it there just wish bathrooms would get Remodeled so they were nicer

From Interstate 80 (Iowa City, IA) take Exit 244 towards Dubuque St./North Liberty. Travel north on Dubuque St. for 3 mi and turn right onto West Overlook Rd. NE. Travel on West Overlook Rd. NE for 1.1 mi. At the stop sign take a slight left turn....

NE for 1.1 mi. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
From Interstate 380 (North Liberty, IA) take Exit 4 towards North Liberty. Travel east on W. Penn St. for 2 mi and turn right onto N Dubuque St. Travel south on N Dubuque St. for 1.9 mi, at the traffic circle, continue straight onto Dubuque St NE. Continue traveling south on Dubuque St. NE for 1.8 mi. Turn left onto West Overlook Rd. NE and travel east for 1.1 mi. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
