Wonderful campground! Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The grounds and bathhouses were exceptionally clean! We’re heading back there again in a week. Enjoy!

This site is great for it’s location near fishing and shower and bathroom amenities .

We like the surrounding and the environment. Good spacing between camp sites. Do not feel cramped in. Area is very inviting. We are not boaters but can verify facilities to launch water craft is easily accessible. This area is one of our favorites. Parks are kept nice and inviting.

Beautiful campground very near to Iowa City and the University of Iowa. Most campsites are electric only. Campsites 1 - 18 and 34 - 38 are mostly shaded, while the others offer mush less tree cover. Site 38 offered a slightly sloped gravel pad but we had no problems leveling our 25' rig. longer rigs may have more difficulty attaining level on this site. During our stay they were upgrading some of the campsites in the area of site #76 to concrete pads so that will be a nice upgrade if they eventually do all of the campsites in the campground. Campground offers modern restrooms with flush toilets and showers with hot water. For those who need to stay connected; ATT is king here offering 79 Mbps down but only 0.5 Mbps up. Verizon was a poor second at 2.8 Mbps down and 0.07 Mbps up. During the day, Verizon was mostly unusable. Thanks to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Recreation.gov for making it SO EASY to plan and reserve a top-notch camping experience at West Overlook Campground! ❤

From Interstate 80 (Iowa City, IA) take Exit 244 towards Dubuque St./North Liberty. Travel north on Dubuque St. for 3 miles and turn right onto West Overlook Rd. NE. Travel on West Overlook Rd. NE for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
From Interstate 380 (North Liberty, IA) take Exit 4 towards North Liberty. Travel east on W. Penn St. for 2 miles and turn right onto N Dubuque St. Travel south on N Dubuque St. for 1.9 miles, at the traffic circle, continue straight onto Dubuque St NE. Continue traveling south on Dubuque St. NE for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto West Overlook Rd. NE and travel east for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
