About West Overlook Campground

The West Overlook Campground is located within the Dam Complex at the Coralville Lake Project. The Coralville Lake Project is a multiple use project providing primary benefits in flood control and low flow augmentation, and secondary benefits in recreation, fish and wildlife management and forest management. Coralville Lake provides many recreational opportunities, including boating, camping, hiking, mountain biking, lake and river fishing, swimming, water skiing, picnicking and hunting.

It's a beautiful place to go camping. It's clean everybody there is respectful great view. The spots are well spaced apartI highly recommend to anyone who has never been there before you won't be disappointed

We came to Iowa City to visit our son who is a travel nurse and needed a place to park our travel trailer. We were very pleased with West Overlook. Our campsite had a great view of the water. We had electric, but the campground does not have water hookups, which was not really a problem since there is a place to take a shower which is kept clean.

The campground is easy access to Iowa City, has a great beach, and is near some great bike trails.

We were in site w52, perfect site. Whole park was very clean. The showers were clean and plenty of hot water. Great beach area. Park personal were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back
