West Overlook Campground

My Fav across the country!

The campground is always clean, including the shower houses/bathrooms. We stayed at the top of the hill and had good cellular coverage for internet access. We love this campground and its location - 10 minutes away from U of Iowa.

Beautiful site #56! Verizon signal was very weak - 4g 1 bar and very slow. It was enough to call and text, but that was about it. The bathroom/shower house ceiling fan was on, which made it very chilly (non heated facility). The restrooms were very clean. We loved the cycling trails into Iowa City as well as around North Liberty and Coralville. The walking and hiking was great, too!

We love this campground and visit frequently. The only thing keeping it from 5-stars is the new 12:00 pm check out time.

We love to camp at West Overlook and try out different sites. The beach and walking trails nearby are great!

The campground had lost power to our section but was extremely helpful to let us know in advance and give options. We opted to stay using our own power and had a wonderful weekend. New bath houses are great - only thought is if there’s a way to limit shower spray and still keep the accessibility. Shower water did go into the sink and toilet areas as it is now, which made it harder to change, etc with a wet floor.

Great place to stay! Very clean bathrooms, great sites. Several sites with 50AMP and water hookups was nice! Staff very friendly.

Love the new shower houses. Great for families. Fishing off the boat ramp and to the left of the dock by the rocks was good too.
