About West Overlook Campground

The West Overlook Campground is located within the Dam Complex at the Coralville Lake Project. The Coralville Lake Project is a multiple use project providing primary benefits in flood control and low flow augmentation, and secondary benefits in recreation, fish and wildlife management and forest management. Coralville Lake provides many recreational opportunities, including boating, camping, hiking, mountain biking, lake and river fishing, swimming, water skiing, picnicking and hunting.

Overall great experience. It’s a great place to “get away from it all” without driving a long distance from home.
We love the new bathroom/shower house. Our only suggestion is the bathrooms could use a couple more hooks on the wall.

Nice, clean, cement level pads on the Mississippi River. Only stayed one night, passing thru. There is a train track that runs along the campground and the horn is pretty intense. Did not affect our sleep. Overall a nice place. Water spigot close by. Not allowed to hook up only fill.

Beautiful, clean campground with great views of lake. Spaces are roomy and each has its own electric and gas connections. Lots of trees. Shower and toilet facilities are throughout campground. Will definitely go back!

This is a beautiful campground right on the lake. The staff is very friendly. The bathrooms with showers have been redone and are individual and very clean. Highly recommended campground
