Beautiful campground, amazing staff, clean restrooms, level concrete pads with lots of grass. Elec and water hookup.
Lots of cottonwood was only drawback, otherwise loved it there!

The restroom floors were usually full of water from the shower. They should have put another floor drain on the other side by the sink & stool. It was a poor design since they have a floor drain by the sink & stool at Sugar Bottom campground. I guess someone was just trying to save a few dollars.

The bathrooms were very clean. Our campsite was perfect, the grass had been cut and no one near us made any noise or disturbance.

The campground was not very well kept.. the grass was extremely weedy and not mowed.. the firepit had paper plates, water bottles and beer cans in it.. the water was a yellowish brownish color out of the hydrant.. we have stayed at several Army Corps campgrounds and have always been very impressed.. west overlook is not impressive at all

The volunteers have no idea what they are doing and do not communicate with each other. And the park rangers pick on the poor people. If you don't have a camper and only a tent, you get picked on by the rangers and volunteers.

From Interstate 80 (Iowa City, IA) take Exit 244 towards Dubuque St./North Liberty. Travel north on Dubuque St. for 3 miles and turn right onto West Overlook Rd. NE. Travel on West Overlook Rd. NE for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
From Interstate 380 (North Liberty, IA) take Exit 4 towards North Liberty. Travel east on W. Penn St. for 2 miles and turn right onto N Dubuque St. Travel south on N Dubuque St. for 1.9 miles, at the traffic circle, continue straight onto Dubuque St NE. Continue traveling south on Dubuque St. NE for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto West Overlook Rd. NE and travel east for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
