West Overlook needs upgraded to 50 amp service. We have had electrical issues at the campground.

Check in was very simple and easy using the reservation system. Campground was clean and well maintained, Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Need updated pictures of sites to show lack of trees. We got spot 39 because it was shady, but when we arrived - not a single tree on the site. This is our favorite campground, so we will continue to visit. Nice camp host and clean bathhouse always!

As far as the campground goes it’s a five star. However it was blazing hot the three days we were there. So overall our stay was a four out of five stars. Because of the weather.

Our stay was early June and We were in site 25 across from the playground. Back in sites, roomy enough for our 36’ motor home with just enough room for the Jeep. Had level concrete. Dump and water station nearby. Power was stable. The site is elevated above the river for nice views and breezes. We drove to the beach since we had too much to carry, but the beach is close enough to bike to. The beach is sandy and water is shallow, perfect for kiddos. The water was warm. Nice playground near the beach. Next time we will try for a spot closer to the beach. Nice boat launch close by. Visitor center was undergoing a remodel. Check out the fossil hunting area within the park!

The rating is solely based off or site and the view! It was GORGEOUS! I believe we lucked out with the best site in the campground. To bad it was only for a quick overnight paying through.

From Interstate 80 (Iowa City, IA) take Exit 244 towards Dubuque St./North Liberty. Travel north on Dubuque St. for 3 miles and turn right onto West Overlook Rd. NE. Travel on West Overlook Rd. NE for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
From Interstate 380 (North Liberty, IA) take Exit 4 towards North Liberty. Travel east on W. Penn St. for 2 miles and turn right onto N Dubuque St. Travel south on N Dubuque St. for 1.9 miles, at the traffic circle, continue straight onto Dubuque St NE. Continue traveling south on Dubuque St. NE for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto West Overlook Rd. NE and travel east for 1.1 miles. At the stop sign take a slight left turn. The entrance to the West Overlook Campground will be located straight ahead.
