We stayed right along the spillway of Saylorville lake with our two dogs. It is a beautiful location, clean and well maintained. This park is one of our favorite places to come.

Bob Shetler Recreation Area is praised for its clean facilities, friendly staff, and spacious campsites, making it a great choice for campers seeking a peaceful retreat. The campground offers easy access to outdoor activities like biking and fishing, and the location near the dam adds to its charm. However, some visitors noted noise from nearby traffic and the need for updates in certain facilities, particularly the shower house.

Nice campground but, because the reservation system allows all the weekends to be booked up in advance, longer term camping is almost impossible. The campground may be mostly empty 5 days a week and full every weekend. There is little or no opportunity to stay 14 days at a time.
