Bob Shetler Recreation Area is praised for its clean facilities, friendly staff, and spacious campsites, making it a great choice for campers seeking a peaceful retreat. The campground offers easy access to outdoor activities like biking and fishing, and the location near the dam adds to its charm. However, some visitors noted noise from nearby traffic and the need for updates in certain facilities, particularly the shower house.

This was the worst camping experience I’ve ever had. Several people at the park were extremely rude, including the volunteers. A volunteer ripped out our water hose, which burned out our camper’s water pump and left our unit without running water. They also moved our satellite dish without permission.
Because of the damage they caused, nothing in our camper was working, and we were forced to leave early. The lack of professionalism and care was unacceptable. I will never return to this park, and this situation needs to be escalated and addressed immediately.

The camp host Bob never stopped harassing us. My wife woke up in the morning to take out our pups and the guy was standing right behind our camper first thing the morning. They drive though our camp site saying they we cleaning out our camp fire just a horrible experience we packed up and left early we felt so uncomfortable. The guy would drive by every 45 min to hour checking out what everyone was doing if felt like a prison camp not a comfortable camp ground. Ruined our vacation

The campsite was very nice but the map is deceiving. From the view on the map it looks like the campsite is right on the lake but it’s actually on the other side of a huge dam so there is no view of the lake whatsoever.

Many of the campsites are very uneven creating situations that could cause damage to campers and/or tow vehicles when entering or exiting the site. Site 29 in particular is almost unusual for some set ups and a warning advisory should be made before individuals are allowed to reserve this site.
