We recently stayed here and, while the campground itself is well maintained with clean grounds and level sites, our check-in experience was bad enough that it overshadowed the positives.

When we arrived, there was a sign on the office door saying they were “cleaning the bathrooms and would be back shortly.” Another RV pulled in behind us and we were blocking the entrance, so since our reserved site was just a few feet from the office, we pulled in to get out of the way and waited.

When the staff member returned, I walked over to check in. Her first words, in a very sharp and clearly irritated tone, were: “We aren’t used to people just pulling in without checking in.” My husband began to explain that no one was in the office, but she cut him off and raised her voice, saying, “I was cleaning the bathrooms!”

There was no attempt to listen, no acknowledgment of the situation, and no basic courtesy. When I explained we were trying to avoid blocking other campers, she ignored that completely and abruptly switched to listing amenities and the WiFi password. When she finished, I asked if she needed me to come into the office for anything, and she simply said “no” and walked away.

I don’t typically leave negative reviews, but this interaction was exceptionally rude and unprofessional. The campground itself is nice, but customer service like this absolutely affects the overall experience and, ultimately, whether people return or recommend it.

I had such a wonderful stay at this RV campsite! The grounds were very peaceful and well-kept, and everything was clean. There’s a nice playground for kids, restrooms available, and it’s in a perfect location — just minutes away from great restaurants, gas stations, and stores. I would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing and convenient place to stay.

I am giving two stars for the property and the facilities. Very nice, level spots. Very nice showers, restrooms, and laundry room.
I took away stars for the staff lying to me in regards to the “city” rule on dogs and leashes. We were told that we are not able to tether out our dogs. Funny that we have lived in Mt Pleasant since the 70’s and still have family there and know of no such thing plus this campground according to a platt book, is not in CITY LIMITS. We couldn’t even tether them out while we packed up our RV…we had to put them in their kennels outside in the Iowa heat while we did so. Another fib told to me was that I couldn’t have my niece park her car at my camper for a visit…can’t have more than one vehicle…but while staying there, there were several campers that had two vehicles…including the host. Lastly….after paying $750 for a two week stay, I had to pay $30 to use the meeting room and patio…even though they use the patio to park their side by side.
We do not do well with hypocrites, therefore when we come back home to visit, we will NOT be using this space.

Nice place. Especially for a short stay. Good utilities and good WiFi (for a RV park) although it was out on the day we departed. No pool. Very small playground. No dog park or dog stations. Seems like the cattle trucks off 218 like to Jake brake but I didn’t see that as a problem and you can hear the train but it is not often. Easy entrance and exit. Office has split hours so if you need something it is at their convenience not yours. Office staff was friendly.

Stayed here last night, one of the cleanest and well maintained RV parks we've stayed at. Bathrooms were clean, good hot water and pressure in the showers. Staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend staying here.
