We had our family reunion here! Several of us stayed at the campground and we had the entire weekend. It was a wonderful time.

The site was nice and very spacious. It was relatively flat and easy to set everything up. It is very beautiful there. The grass was a little long making for a little more morning moisture during some pretty humid days. Overall, the camp site is exceptional and the facilities are taken care of and clean. Would definitely go back.

Enjoy the calmness of watching the river.
It’s easy to bike both around the campground and on the trail.

This very large campground is easy to find and run by the Army Corp of Engineers. There are 4 dump stations, the sites are large with electric only, numerous shower houses with free showers and a lot of sites have shade. We were in site 99. Make sure to spend some time in Pella. There is a lot of history there, the people are very friendly and they have great bakeries.

We love riding our bikes on the bike trails at Howell Station and around Red rock Lake. We also like riding our bikes from the campground into Pella.
The campground and bathrooms are clean but the grass could be mowed more often. The grass was long when we arrived and wasn’t mowed till the day before we left. We stayed for 10 days.

Howell Station has become my favorite campground! I love the large sites so we aren’t on top of each other. The bathrooms are very clean and I like the showers not having those push buttons where the water stays on for 8 seconds. It’s a beautiful campground! We enjoyed the pelicans in April and am looking forward to catching them this fall!!!
