Sandy Beach Campground is praised for its beautiful setting, clean facilities, and friendly staff, making it a pleasant place to stay. Many visitors appreciate the spacious, well-maintained campsites and the nice views of the lake. However, some concerns were raised about noise from nearby campers and issues with water access, impacting the overall experience.

This is another great USACE facility. A bit smaller than some of the others we have stayed at, but equally well maintained. Nice boat launch just down the road next to the campground and although we didn't get out on Corralville Lake, it looked like a great body of water to explore. We enjoyed watching the huge flocks of American White Pelicans that cruised the skies while we were there. There aren't any trails, and the campground is a hub for fisherman and boaters for the most part. It's great that there is a fish cleaning station near the boat launch also. The showers were clean and had great pressure. It's an easy drive into North Liberty or Corralville for supplies also. The road in was easy for us to navigate with our 42 ft class A and dingy vehicle, and the interior roads are paved and also easy to navigate. Pads were all gravel and we had enough room for our motorhome in our 50 ft site. Water is available at the dump station when you enter the campground so fill up there as there is no water at the sites. 30 amp power was strong and we had no problems.

Great campground near the lake!
Pros: the camping spots are huge and pretty level!! Had plenty of room to park our 32 ft camper and big ol truck. Gravel spot that seems much wider and longer than ehat you'd normally see at an average campground. The campground is very clean and well maintained. The park is in good shape and safe for kids. Lots of shade, too!
Cons: Most of the spots do not have a water hookup, they only have a few spots that are full hookup. Most people don't mind that, but wanted to mention. The bathroom/showers were in decent shape but very dirty compared to Sugar Bottom campground. They look about the same but I noticed these hadn't been cleaned in awhile. But atleast the showers are hot and stalls are stocked with TP!
We had a great time and will be back!

Nice little campground on the edge of the lake. Spaces 1-17 were nicely landscaped and well presented. Do pay attention to the site details. We were in site 13 and while it said it was level, my F250 and 35 ft Trailer were not all level parked in there.
Do be aware there are water taps at the water fountains if you need water, however, we brought our tanks filled.
Also, DO be aware that you cannot get to the lake from the first loop. You have to go down to the actual boat launch to get to the Sandy Beach.

We had to make an abrupt change due to the shootings at Maquoketa Caves. 😔 You can't go anywhere nowadays....
Needless to say... Great place and hidden gem. Grounds crew are super nice and helpful. Plenty of firewood. More importantly, it's super close to Lake Macbride Boat 🛥 Rentals. We went kayaking and rented a pontoon both days.
Showers are hot 🔥 and good pressure.
I highly recommend this place! 🔥 💪🏾 💯 ❤️

The bathroom was a mess, camphost didn't pay much attention to the gate when it was open, nor was he very familiar with the facilities. Wish there was a better way to deal with no shows as our party had 3 sites, with one being quite a bit away from the other 2, and the site next to us never showed up. Would have been nice to be able to move them next to our camper.

Idem gem of a place. It is very peaceful. Don’t expect full hook up there but we didn’t mind because it keeps the Karens and Richards away.
