We enjoyed our stay even though we had to move because of flooding. Glad that the ranger called us to warn us of the water rising. We would have been in trouble if he had not.

Richey Cove is praised for its beautiful, clean, and well-maintained campground, offering scenic views and a quiet atmosphere perfect for relaxation and outdoor activities like fishing and kayaking. While some bathroom facilities have experienced maintenance issues, the overall experience remains positive, with friendly staff and a location close to town amenities. Campers appreciate the spacious sites and the campground's ability to provide a great family-friendly environment, making it a favorite destination for repeat visits.

This may have been the best COE campgrounds we've ever been to! The sites were very well kept and ours had a roof over the picnic table. The bathroom/shower was very clean and it had hand soap! Our site on the little island was beautiful!

Great park in the summer to catch the cool breeze and repeatedly swim throughout the day. It was also nice to have covered outdoor kitchen, easy to roll in and out without much fuss

This is a nice shaded spot that is kind of secluded from everyone else. Right by a boat dock so you do see some traffic but its not right in the campsite. I would rent both so you have the whole area to yourself. It is unlevel but we had an RV that did fine and then just a truck tent on #1. I did have to use blocks on my kayak trailer to keep it in place. I will use these spots again in the future.

Well I was unhappy to see how they let their nice cement block bathroom/shower house go down hill. I reported in June when we were there that one bathroom you couldn’t use at all, the lights wouldn’t come on, and our trip there in July they still hadn’t fixed the lights. Also in another one of the bathrooms you couldn’t shut off the shower, it ran all the time, hot water, it was so steamy in there you couldn’t use the toilet. And a third bathroom the door remained locked all the time. So that reduced a 6 bathroom/shower down to 3. Ppl were having to wait.

Wonderful camping.
The only downside was knowing what sites were going to be available with a shorter lead time. Several of the sites we would have preferred were not available until a few days ahead of time. On your site, they just said "unavailable." I would suggest labeling those with "Walk-up only" or "reservable 7 days in advance."

Richie Cove and the Council Grove Lake are great. But site 01 is really unlevel! It does state that in the description, but I had no idea it was so bad! It might be 6" off!
