A nice cg and site + a terrific spring oasis from the KS brown and wind. Camp hosts were pleasant and helpful. The dam and river were interesting, and the sound of running water was pleasant. BEWARE, there are 2 entrances to the cg, on either end of the dam road - miles apart. Both have signs, saying "Bridge Closed" - with no info or explanation. I only learned the facts by risking being stuck or having a difficult turnaround. The cg is split on each side of the post-dam river, previously connected by a big, county owned bridge. With it being closed, one needs to ID the reserved site # & somehow determine what side/entrance to use, and not worry about the bridge closed warning. A simple addition to the signs of which sites are accessed on each entrance road, would be a common sense improvement.

The overall experience was great, the grounds where very well cared for - we met the camp hosts very friendly, made sure we didn't need anything - nice. The only thing I wish they would open the bridge for walking and bike crossing - that would be nice to have that the are is beautiful- it would be nice to take a bike ride across the bridge to the other side without having to go dirt roads. (understand vehicle cross is no longer - but foot traffic or bike). Please consider. Thx.

It was Memorial weekend which explains a lot. Campsite was great neat and clean. The problem was the neighbors they had pit bull and large dogs like them that either fought or play fought very loudly and would bark for hours during the day. they did very little to control them. They also had amplifiers and mikes and would have song sessions into quite hours. All this with in 50 ft of the camp hosts. I have no idea if they said anything to them or not. If they did it didn't do any good. I realize what weekend it was you get all the once a summer campers and the wild ones. I don't expect quite as a library when out on Memorial weekend I do expect if you can't control your animals board them somewhere . Loud music and people thinking they are a band is never acceptable at a crowded campsite.

The bridge was out so we had to go to another camp site to shower. The roads were bad shape. It was beautiful seeing at night the water coming out of the locks.

The stay was well received by camphost and help.
One problem was at Spot 32 where there is a mud hole which I was not able to get some rock to fill it in and build it up properly so my grandson and I scanvaged some rock and 4 buckets of large stone from off sight, made a base in that hole that held the camper and truck without sinking in the mud.
That hole needs to have a little more base added to prevent additional hole deepening.
This is a very nice shady location and needs a little attention. The RV park was very clean along with the bathrooms.
