Three years ago we reported that the light in the bathrooms near the boat ramp was out. Three years later the light is still not working after dusk.

The bathrooms were closed. The showers were closed. The bathroom by the boat ramp was open. But if you didn’t have a camper with a bathroom you were out of luck. I based my spot off of the bathroom being there by the campsite. The one I booked by was closed and that messed up my plan having kids there with me as well. Also the brush around the waters edge needs cleaned up some. Could barely get to the water from the camp spots.

One of our go to campgrounds. Onlly issue is the old section (1-91) bathrooms need major upgrades.

The sites worked out great for our family campout - close to the water which the kids thoroughly enjoyed and also close to the shower house. Space around us was also great for family yard games.

I enjoyed my two week stay. I would have stayed until winter if I didn't have to move every two weeks. I'll definitely be back!!

Nice corner lot with lots of room. Site was level and easy to back into. There was not much shade for the camper but the surrounding area is full of trees. Wasps seem to be a huge problem at cottonwood point, every spot we have stayed has been overwhelmed with them. The grill was filthy and full of wasps as well.

It is a great pull thru site with water access right out in front of the spot. However there is very little shade which contradicts what is stated in the reservation. We camped a few weeks after a flood and the site had not been cleaned up, had lots of debris scattered all over the area. Due to the fact that there was not much shade and all the debris is the reason for the lower review. I would highly suggest some form of wasp spray and most of the awning are filled with wasp nests.
This would be a fantastic spot in spring or fall when the temps weren’t over 95 degrees.

The weather was perfect, the site was good, except the grass needed to be mowed bad!

Camp sites are. Overgrown and in disrepair. We had to bring our own mower and clean up campsites. We have never seen it like this. We go out often and have had to mow our own sites. Grass and weeds were up to my knees. Why aren’t they taking care of cottonwood point? Who do we need to complain to? It’s a federal recreation area!
