What Guests Are Saying
Cottonwood Point is praised for its beautiful, clean campsites and scenic views by the lake, making it a great spot for water sports and relaxation. Many visitors appreciate the spacious sites, well-maintained facilities, and friendly atmosphere, with some returning frequently for the calming experience. However, concerns about infrequent mowing, maintenance issues, and limited restroom access have been noted, suggesting areas for improvement.

We didn't go till Saturday morning we were to be in I165 but when arriving someone else was already set up in it, we took I159 which worked but no spots were marked reserved. It worked but not sure why spots never got marked reserved

I was located on 97. Nice clean area next to the lake. Big rig friendly. Pull through. I will stay here again.

We have been camping here for years. With attendees checking us in. Alway enjoy staying a weekend and sometimes a whole week. But this year It felt weird not checking in and no game wardens around. Kinda felt security was lacking.

Sites were very nice. Water and Electric were a bit far away, most people water and electrical are on the drivers side, middle to rear. You need front service to use these without an additional hose or drop line.

Thank you for putting gravel down on the pads. We appreciate all that the new manager is trying to do after years of neglect. Would love to see camp hosts back or more of a ranger presence. Nonetheless, Cottonwood Point provides the best camping in Kansas. Thanks for all you do.

No one at the gate. Only saw one ranger during our 8 day stay. Now they tell us we can't reserve a spot more than four days ahead. Ceiling falling down in the handicapped shower in the men's shower room, and 30 amp electricity in our spot didn't work. No one ever addressed any of these problems. Probably won't be back.

Enjoyed another four nights in my RV. Nice place only 60 miles from home. Will go back again.

The campsites were in good condition! Busy weekend with lots of campers. Our neighbor had too many dogs but they were generally well behaved. There we no camp hosts and all arrangements had to be made online but that worked well. Was kinda sad that the gardens at the overlook and at the check-in station were totally uncared for but maybe they are short of people for this. Great experience generally.

Cottonwood campground is a great place to camp. Site is close to water with clean bath house nearby and covered picnic table. Had good experience fishing near the campsite.
