This camping area was better before they went to a host-less campground. Litter, unmowed areas, no notice of blue-green algae dangers, and no security. This lake is going downhill fast.

This reservoir is struggling with no volunteers to help with the maintenance but despite it all, it still has charm. Big trees, good size campsites, and shopping available at Hillsboro, Kansas and Marion, Kansas.

Have stayed at Cottonwood Point for years, nice wide sites, easy in & out, no problem with utilities. Campground staff was great before they went away.

The overall maintenance has gone down hill i.e. Cleaning the bathrooms and mowing . Another problem we encountered is they no longer have camphost, We lost power on a Saturday night at 9 PM and there was nobody to contact to find out what was going on. no one answered the phone at the park office.
Also a lot of the state parks is providing free Wi-Fi for the campers it would be nice if the Corps of engineers lakes would do that.
