What Guests Are Saying
Cottonwood Point is praised for its beautiful, clean campsites and scenic views by the lake, making it a great spot for water sports and relaxation. Many visitors appreciate the spacious sites, well-maintained facilities, and friendly atmosphere, with some returning frequently for the calming experience. However, concerns about infrequent mowing, maintenance issues, and limited restroom access have been noted, suggesting areas for improvement.

Two of the shade trees are dead, so there is minimal shade in the afternoons. Good water access for fishing or canoe/kayak launching. Good fire pit and nice to have the awning over the table, bring wasp spray in case they have built nests though. No issues with utilities. Required 1-2” blocks to level on the low side.

The campground is getting very run down. 2 of the 4 shower houses/bathrooms are locked up and one of them has been for over a year and 1 of the showers in another bath house is out of order. Grass is very high, the shelter over the picnic table was rotting out.

Grass has not been mowed for weeks. So tall. Couldn’t let dogs out. Couldn’t get to fire pit due to weeds. Not just our site, whole campground Campground is awesome, just not the unmowed weeds

The grass wasn't mowed and there were about 200 spiders in our camp area, other than that the lake is great

Camper park place so unlevel we had to use all 12 of our lifts +two 2x8’s and the grass was so tall and full of weeds, had not been mowed😢 probably the worst camping spot we’ve ever had😩 The only consolation was the weather was great and the thrift store, ETC in Hillsboro and Marion auxiliary thrift stores. We’re both really great.❣️

Bathrooms were not open for use. If you bring your dogs, make sure they wear boots because the entire area is covered in sand burrs.
Trails were decent, not a lot of shaded areas, so bring lots of sunscreen.
The layout of the campsites is basically a circle and there is supposed to be a fishing pond in the center. The pond has long been dry and overgrown with shrubs
