What Guests Are Saying
Cottonwood Point is praised for its beautiful, clean campsites and scenic views by the lake, making it a great spot for water sports and relaxation. Many visitors appreciate the spacious sites, well-maintained facilities, and friendly atmosphere, with some returning frequently for the calming experience. However, concerns about infrequent mowing, maintenance issues, and limited restroom access have been noted, suggesting areas for improvement.

This is a truly wonderful place to camp. Very large well spaced sites. I think 73 or so FHU sites which is amazing for a COE park. And many more W/E sites in other camping loops. All sites are lakeside/lake view. The older area is very shady. Verizon signal and OTA TV excellent. Friendly helpful host staff. For tourist activity you can drive 30 miles east of the lake to Cottonwood Falls which is a cute little town with museums and beautiful courthouse. Several shops in the quaint downtown and Grand Central Hotel and Grill serves excellent food in a lovely historic building. Hwy 177 is the main road through town and is part of the Flint Hills Scenic Byway. North on 177 is Tallgrass National Prairie Grass Preserve which is interesting to see. North of that is the lovely historic town of Council Grove. West of the campground is Maxwell Wildlife Preserve with a large herd of free range bison. The towns of Marion and Hillsboro are very close to lake. Groceries, hardware store, coffee shop, other fun stuff. We love this area of Kansas. So peaceful and serene.

Nice campground. Everyone who was staying there were friendly, campground host was super nice and bathrooms were some of the best we have seen in awhile. Definitely will be staying again.

The men's restroom was closed due to vandalism. Other than that, our visit was great

Very clean campground. Campground bathrooms were excellent - plenty of supplies, clean, well ventilated, no bugs (except for the rogue crickets). Neighboring campers were a bit too close for my liking (but that’s the only reason why I didn’t rate this excellent). But I’ve also been in tighter quarters….so if you have nice, respectful neighbors like we did, it worked out fine. All in all a very good experience and the cleanliness factor was a huge plus!
