Marion has always had the best campsites. It just saddens me that it seems the facility is not being maintained as it should be.

We parked in Old Cottonwood Point 2. To all those with reservations for 79 thru to 93 need to know the bathroom and shower was closed again. Just like last year and previous years. The only operating bathroom was at the boat ramp. The bathroom across from sites 53 and 54 stools would not flush down and mens shower control handle missing.. The local bathroom helps us get through 14 days of camping without using a portable tank. To dump a portable tank you have to go all the way back to where you come in to the park. To get a shower we went to Hillsboro cove, NO hot water... We sure would like the bathrooms fixed in old Cottonwood Point 2. Its sad to see people stop at the bathroom across from site 87 only to be upset cause there closed and get back in vehicle and drive away. I beg the US Army Corp of Engineers to get these items fixed.

The park is feeling neglected. The poison ivy is taking over. We were there several weeks over a period of time and saw a ranger only once or twice. Volunteers and Rangers used to come around and talk to campers but no lomger. Rules aren’t being followed, cars are parked on the grass, off road vehicles are starting to show up and drive through campsites.

Cottonwood point never disappoints. It’s a great place for glamping the sunsets are spectacular! Harold and Rose they are great! We absolutely love it there with lots of sites we do prefer the full hookups.

We enjoyed our stay nice clean
campgrounds nicely maintained. Not sure why the shower house or the bathhouse that was next to us was out of order. That was the only thing that was not convenient. Nice place to camp.

Be aware that not ALL restrooms are open. The grass needed to be mowed.

Cottonwood Point used to be a great camping site but for the last three years it has gone downhill. Half of the bathrooms are out of service so you have to drive to use facilities and showers. If you don’t have a camper it is not worth coming here. They did mow this year which they haven’t kept up the last 2 years so I guess that is some improvement.
