Cottonwood Point is praised for its beautiful, clean campsites and scenic views by the lake, making it a great spot for water sports and relaxation. Many visitors appreciate the spacious sites, well-maintained facilities, and friendly atmosphere, with some returning frequently for the calming experience. However, concerns about infrequent mowing, maintenance issues, and limited restroom access have been noted, suggesting areas for improvement.

Haven't been to Marion for years. We'll be back (when it's a little cooler). TV reception poor to almost zero but that's not the parks problem.

Everything was good except the shower house and restrooms!!! The shower for handicapped people which is the only shower that works !! The light won’t stay on it has a short or something in it !! I don’t really appreciate having to take a shower in the dark . Don’t know who to contact to get it fixed ??

This is one of our favorite coves to camp in when we camp with family and the grandkids. We were her in May and July and again in September. The electric box has been in need of repair every time. We have reported it every time and it has yet to be fixed. This is our favorite reservoir in Kansas to camp at, it would be so nice if the utilities could be better taken care of.

Nice large open site, but it is far from level, that it took unhooking and hooking back up twice to get my from supports short enough to level my RV. A lot of the sites seem to have this issue at Marion Reservoir. We have camped at several other lakes around the state, and several of these have almost completely level campsites, which is easier to set up, and easier to walk around the site during the stay, and a lot safer for elderly.

The park has a neglected feel. We replaced a broken rotten board on the work bench by the table in site 162. The driveway is all grass over the rock. The treadle needs work it is hard to back into. New more water access at sites in the expansion area. It was mowed and I like to see the large public areas were mowed, behind Group site 1. Miss seeing volunteers and talking to rangers. They used to stop by but we only saw them once and we were there 7 days! Had trouble with dogs off leash had to call sheriff for help. An OTV came thru from the north end by site 165 (local person I would say). The bath house by Group 1 needs repaired! The crew that cleans the bathhouses does an excellent job! I just hate to see it going down hill several canopies are rotting in the expansion area.

From Marion, Kansas, take Highway 56 for about 4 mi. Turn north on Old Mill Road and continue almost three miles, then follow signs to the campground.
Cottonwood Point is accessible via Highway 56, which is approximately 4 miles from Marion, Kansas.
