What Guests Are Saying
Hillsboro Cove is a well-maintained campground with spacious, clean sites, many of which offer beautiful waterfront views. Visitors appreciate the proximity to the beach area and the availability of amenities like clean restrooms and picnic tables. However, there are some concerns regarding maintenance, including issues with power, hot water in showers, and the condition of the entry road, which detracts from the overall experience for some guests.

Spent Monday-Friday at Hillsboro Cove. Very quiet. My favorite time to camp there.
Site was nice and restrooms were very clean. (Except for a few bugs)
Will definitely be back.

The ladies bathroom light doesn’t not work, during the day it’s not an issue but at night the lights don’t come on. It’s been like this for months. It makes it difficult to take our daughter to the bathroom when it’s completely dark.

We really enjoyed camping in Hillsboro Cove in October during the week! We were right on the water and had lots of shade. There were bathrooms close by. We were about the only ones in the whole campground. It was great!

Great campsite and campground! We were right on the lake and only had 1 other person in the whole loop when we were there. Enjoyed the shade and sun as it was cool at night and warm during the day. Had electric & water & a nice picnic table with a roof over it & fire pit.

There seemed to be a lot more sites occupied than what was showing as reserved on recreation.gov.
In addition, there was at least one site that was reserved, but nobody showed up that night.
The recreation.gov online system is not always accurate. Sometimes it shows that all sites are reserved, but several go unused. These are sites that could have been used FCFS. Very inefficient.. Needs a lot of modification. Please pass this along to someone who can make those changes.

Site 24 was good, sort of isolated by trees from the rest of the campground except site 25. Water and electric working. Table, grill, and fire pit in good condition. Flat ground and driveway to work with. Only issue was the campground showers weren’t working for the season yet.

It’s our first time camping on the Hillsboro side of Lake. Not the first time at Marion reservoir. It was very enjoyable & loved the site. There was a problem with the 50 amp & we said something to the camp host & he had a guy come the next day. Got the issue fixed right there & then. We was very impressed with the care of there campers. Great place to camp!!
