What Guests Are Saying
Hillsboro Cove is a well-maintained campground with spacious, clean sites, many of which offer beautiful waterfront views. Visitors appreciate the proximity to the beach area and the availability of amenities like clean restrooms and picnic tables. However, there are some concerns regarding maintenance, including issues with power, hot water in showers, and the condition of the entry road, which detracts from the overall experience for some guests.

This was a fantastic site! It was long….. like bring your 45’ toy hauler, and boat, and utility trailer, long! It had the best view of the lake and we were even able to access the water from our site to swim and launch our kayaks. The park was VERY quiet. In fact the entire lake was quiet! We were one of two campers in our loop. The town of Hillsboro was about 10 minutes away and had anything we may have needed. We didn’t use the shower facilities, but peeked in and they appeared well kept. The only reason we didn’t give this 5 stars is because the entire area is badly in need of mowing. There was a bag of trash hanging from the grill at our site as well as random trash that should have been seen by the camp host riding around on the golf cart, but was never picked up. Our site was right across a small cove from a boat ramp. It wasn’t busy, so that wasn’t an issue. 50 amp and water worked great! Nice picnic table that was covered. Lots of trash containers that appeared to be dumped regularly. Nice shade for most of the day. We would definitely stay here again!

Drive into park needs some serious road work. Very sad condition. Park wasn’t mowed but they started when I left. Needs a little up keep and needs fish cleaning station. Really nice park all in all

25 was a nice spot. It had good privacy. It was backwards, the picnic table, etc. were on the opposite side to the door. There was water access but it was a little ways back and shrubbery blocking it.

We enjoyed being directly on the lake. We camped in mid-fall and there were not many people at the campground. The bathrooms/showers were clean and accessable. We enjoyed our stay.

The entrance road is gonna do some serious damage to vehicles entering/leaving the area.
Been bad for the last 2 years and getting worse.
Area is not mowed as it used to be.
Some sites have been out of service for a long time.
Too bad, used to be our favorite place to camp.

To be fair, there had been a lot of rain just before I camped here. I stayed for about 10 days. Many sites were flooded, but not blocked off. Everything was very overgrown, even the areas that were not flooded at all. I found the site itself to be very level and spacious. The campground as a whole was very quiet and enjoyable.

As we are both mobility challenged, this spot was FANTASTIC! Close to the water for fishing, and easy to park the RV.
