What Guests Are Saying
Hillsboro Cove is praised for its beautiful lake views, spacious and well-laid-out campsites, and quiet atmosphere, making it an appealing spot for camping and fishing. Reviewers appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities and the overall peaceful environment, particularly during off-peak times. However, some concerns include maintenance issues, such as the need for road repairs and inadequate restroom supplies, as well as overgrown areas and occasional trash accumulation.

Drive into park needs some serious road work. Very sad condition. Park wasn’t mowed but they started when I left. Needs a little up keep and needs fish cleaning station. Really nice park all in all

This was a fantastic site! It was long….. like bring your 45’ toy hauler, and boat, and utility trailer, long! It had the best view of the lake and we were even able to access the water from our site to swim and launch our kayaks. The park was VERY quiet. In fact the entire lake was quiet! We were one of two campers in our loop. The town of Hillsboro was about 10 minutes away and had anything we may have needed. We didn’t use the shower facilities, but peeked in and they appeared well kept. The only reason we didn’t give this 5 stars is because the entire area is badly in need of mowing. There was a bag of trash hanging from the grill at our site as well as random trash that should have been seen by the camp host riding around on the golf cart, but was never picked up. Our site was right across a small cove from a boat ramp. It wasn’t busy, so that wasn’t an issue. 50 amp and water worked great! Nice picnic table that was covered. Lots of trash containers that appeared to be dumped regularly. Nice shade for most of the day. We would definitely stay here again!

We were very disappointed.
The access road TERRIBLE!!
When we got to the camp site it in took me a half hour to clean up after the previous occupants, food scraps everywhere.
The campsite looked like it hadn't been mowed for weeks.

Site 41 is wonderful! Lots of room and shade! Only setback is water hookup but since we have a holding tank that wasn’t an issue! We had to move our reservation to Hillsboro Cove since the original campsite at Cottonwood Point was flooded. But it turned out great and we will book again!

We love camping here and normally it’s great! This trip though nothing was mowed or kept up. Trash was overflowing in areas. This is not normal for this area at all. But it’sa beautiful lake and often very peaceful and a great place to visit!

The roads could use some TLC but the spot was fantastic. Shower house was spotless. I would highly recommend.

I’m not sure how a campground can be listed as open when only one comfort station is unlocked. And to make the experience more disgusting was the filthy conditions of this vault toilet. No paper provided. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since last fall.
