The camp area has lost most of the camp sites along the shore, shoreline is not mowed so plan accordingly.

When we got there, our reserved campsite was the only part of the campgrounds that was crowded so we changed our site. Park caretaker could not change it and I couldn't get answer at RECREATION.gov so we paid for both campsites. We were not able to use our lifetime parks pass to discount the price on the campsite we actually used.

The shower house was closed. We had to walk a quarter mike to the one vault toilet in the campground. We reserved this place because it had flush toilet and showers. Very dissatisfied.

Beautiful fall weather added to then peacefulness of our stay. Watching the Pelicans waving through the air so gracefully was my favorite pastime.
It’s too bad there are so many old dead trees. Once they are removed there will be no shade from the hit afternoon sun

I think Old Town might be okay, but my experience was very poor. The sites are close together and the spot just behind and very close to me had a long term camper. I arrived as they were power washing their camper. The power washer was very noisy and only stopped intermittently for a short break. The power washer went on for several hours. Additionally, there were several dogs that barked non-stop. I broke camp and left, did not stay the night, forfeiting my two nights' fee. I expect some noise but not that much. Additionally, the campers behind me had two children that ran through my camp constantly, between my car and picnic table as I was trying to set up. They had not been taught to respect another person's space.
