A woman and her kids live there and she lets her kids do whatever they want. We chose to move campgrounds because of them. Also they’ve taking out most of the trees so there is very little shade.

No trees kinda sucks but I understand flooding . The gates being locked at 10 on Friday and Saturday really sucks because I work as a bartender on those days and I can’t get back in to the spot I rented 😡

The park was a nice little park but maintenance in the park was not standard for our expectations of an army corps park. We were camping with friends. Our space A18 had a very large mud hole that I had to wade in to plug in. and my concerns about this safety issue fell on deaf ears. The local office here said they can maybe move me, but not my party. And they said the problem is not going to get fixed for a while as it is not a priority. I ask to talk to someone higher or the maintenance crew and was refused. I assumed if they saw the issue they would work to fix it. I even offered to help. And with the standing water under and behind my camper, the mosquito population was outrageous making it impossible to enjoy setting out. That was my main concern but also the shower facility was dark with lights going off to early and the dark old ill maintained building made it appear dirty. The dump station drain, also was also under 6-8in of water. The service volunteer in the park drained the water, but his solution was to open the drain with a stick so I would not have to get wet. Of course I would have had to go find a stick. All in all, I was most disappointed that the corps had what I felt was zero concern for my safety. A salute to your gate guard volunteer who brought two long boards and placed them across a part of the mud hole so I would not have to walk in it "again" and my elect cable could set up on them, out of the water. I should have ask for a refund and payment for a pair of shoes ruined in the mud. All this disgust I felt would have been prevented had you just cared enough to at a minimum, to show some compassion for my concerns and I not be dismissed as unreasonable or unworthy. The corps did not show any concern that I felt unsafe while standing in ankle deep water and messing with electric. They fell just short of saying suck it up. I just now thought, I have a TBI and off balance, who would be responsible if I fell in that mud, and was hurt?
