We loved the area and the view. We have always camped at the state park. We are definitely going back to rock creek.

The park, trails, bathrooms/showers, campgrounds and staff were great. Clean, friendly, and quiet, I would rank the park a 5.0. I had a great view of the water, shaded space to put a tent, a short drive to the beach, and several areas to do some fishing if I wanted. Thank you for a great stay!

We love the location and beautiful sunrise and sunset views. The volunteer camp host also did a very good job and came around frequently to check on things. Our last stay was July 27-Aug 5. There were a few things that were not ideal. The campground needed mowing when we arrived. After a couple of days, a mowing crew arrived, but had to stop mowing because of rain. It then took them another week before they came back and mowed. The gnats are always a problem at that campsite. Not just a few gnats, but large amounts of gnats that require us to go inside at times. We keep hoping every year (this was our 3rd year to camp there) that maybe some spraying or something will be done to help with this situation. The length of the grass during this stay definitely didn't help.
The last issue was the condition of the bathrooms, especially the shower house by the main entrance. The were in need of a good cleaning. We watched several mornings when what we assume was the maintenance people drove up. There were always 2 people. Some times only one got out of the car. They usually spent less than 5 minutes each stop and appeared to only check toilet paper. There was never any cleaning done. I don't know how much you are paying for your cleaning contract, but you are definitely not getting your money's worth!
We will camp here again because we love the location, but hope next year the mowing and bathroom maintenance
will have improved.
Thank you!

I camped on the Peninsula. I love that it is close to the water and I can kayak easily. The edge is not mowed however and some spots are more difficult than others to get through. Overall, it is a beautiful area. But if you’re on the Peninsula, there are no showers without walking quite a distance.

Our campsite had a lake view. The site was posted as with shade but a shade tree was 50 yards away. Not a accurate listing. Bathhouse was less than desirable but still useable.

We were in sight 39 and it has ample shade with lots of room to spread out. Great view of the water and just peaceful!

Nice campground, as always the shower house is the pits. Needs cleaned and remodeled.
