Rock Creek Peninsula is great because you can see water on both sides of the camping areas. The cove worked great for swimming, kayaking and fishing. It is a well kept campground with friendly volunteers on-site. We highly recommend it!

We camped at Edwardsville. It wasn't ever packed with people. So, it was very open and peaceful. Gorgeous sunrises over the lake every morning. The fire pit has a grilling grate that's adjustable. It's easy to drive around and find wood for it. A few spots have trees for shade. Plenty of kindling under those to start your fires up. I like the fencing between the parking area and the campsites. Although, I do wish there were more entrances in that fencing. Restrooms onsite are pretty decent. Although, millions of bugs, including spiders and wasps and could use better ventilation. The shower house is just around the curve- You can see it from the campgrounds. It's pretty nice. Shower heads could stand to be redone. But, plenty of Tinley and shower stalls available. Less bugs and pretty good ventilation. Toilet paper stays stocked. Yeah cans stay emptied. It's kept pretty clean! Love this lake and this campsite! It's where we go, every time!

Beware the water pressure at the sights. Also, some sights have water on the wrong side of the sight. We used a longer hose to reach the spigot and did not transfer our pressure reducer. Result was we saw the cartridge for the kitchen sink blow out and the shower head cracked. Both had to be replaced.
