Camphost Bud and his wife are very helpful!
Had we not met them as host over at a different campground, we never would have tried Michigan Valley. We love it over here!

Rough weekend camping. Showed up to campsite and grass was really tall and needed cut bad. Set up camp. My kids ran to the playground where they found a lot of trash. Lucky my oldest decided to take our trash can over there and clean it up. Trash bag full! As we tried to hang out at the camp site, we were attacked all weekend by swarms of nats! They were horrible. Other campers had told us they are always bad at this camp ground. Makes relaxing a pain. Woke up next morning (and all following mornings) to no water pressure. Unable to shower or wash up for breakfast. After a few hours, pressure finally came back. Got in our swim clothes, only to find out the beach was closed due to blue-green algae. Park Ranger said there wasn’t a chance it would open all weekend. We really felt like we wasted a weekend at this campsite. We have canceled our other trips already booked for this camp ground and took a big loss with all the cancellation fees. Also no cell service with Verizon so couldn’t check radar for weather or updates on fireworks for 4th of July.
