Due to weather, we were without electricity for the 1st night. We appreciated the Ranger stopping by our campsite to inform us of the situation. Once electricity was restored, everything at the campsite worked well. The swim beach was great and close to where our site was set.
The 2 negatives: cold water in one of the showers I used and no hand soap dispensers in the bathrooms.
We will go back to this location!!

Love Michigan Valley campsite. Visit several times a year and enjoy it every day. Always well lite in public areas and patrolled by campground host, Park Rangers and Corp. of Engineer employees.

Restrooms were very clean lots of hot water. We missed all the deer that would come back from eating there was three or four only one this year. Kanopolis lake has deer everywhere and wild turkey in the campgrounds. It was such a delight to see a herd of deer eating grass behind the restrooms below the dam. I like to see more no hunting around the lake

All was good except for the no hot water in the showers. It was addressed and thought it was fixed, but then when returned to take another shower, water was cold again. We did appreciate the pleasantness of all the employees and it was a well kept up campground.

We checked in on Thursday to a beautiful sight. However we were not told that the lake had blue algae and we couldn’t get in. On Friday my husband went home to an appointment and I stayed because my son was bringing my grandkids down to camp and swim. We have cone to Pamona Lake and stayed in Michigan Valley for a couple of years now. I didn’t find out until the middle of the day the lake was unswimable. I called my son and explained to him about the blue algae and they didn’t want to come if unable to enjoy the lake. I understood and had to tear everything down, by myself, and left early to meet up with them at our house.
