Positives:
The camp grounds were well kept and clean. It is a park like setting with many trees for shade. Many sites having a good view of the lake. The camp host was friendly. The sites are mostly all level and covered with plenty of gravel. Easy and short drive if you are coming for the KC area.
Negatives:
Unfortunately, we experienced a massive amount of insects(wasps, hornets, ants, gnats, flies, etc…) at our site. We are organized and clean campers so did our part to deter them, to no avail.. Not sure if it was the perfect mix of location and weather conditions or a site that was not used for a while(undisturbed). It was so bad we could not enjoy our stay. We have camped many times in many areas(KS, MO, AR) and have never experienced this level of insects. Additionally, there was loud bass music off and on both evenings from another camp ground. We only saw a Ranger once past 5pm, which left you with the feeling the camp ground was not well monitored in the evening hours. Our site was close to the water but no safe water access, so if you have a paddle board or a kayak you have t haul it to a lake access point.

Lovely camping spot with plenty of space. Quiet during the middle of the week. Only problem was there were a lot of ticks.

The play park was so far away from where most of the camp sights were. The park host never came around to see if everything is going ok. The only time I seen her come by was going to her families camp sight. Phone service was spotty at the 4 sights that we all had reserved. There was different providers also. I don't think I will be going back to camp here.

Lake Pomona seems to be a hidden gem, at least during August when the hectic summer is over. During my stay, I was the only camper on the non-electric loop.

Beautiful spot for camping, the only thing I would suggest is that they put more shade trees on D-6 camping spot. Other than that it was fantabulous camping like always!!!
