Dog Creek Campground is praised for its beautiful, clean, and spacious sites, along with a friendly atmosphere and proximity to Nolin Lake, making it a popular choice for visitors. Many reviewers enjoyed the quiet environment, well-maintained facilities, and the opportunity for outdoor activities such as swimming and watching sunrises. However, some concerns were raised about restroom ventilation, occasional inconsiderate behavior from other campers, and the need for better campground supervision.

The good- Very nice campground, it was nice to be able to walk down to the lake and watch the sunrise or easily swim.
The bad- restrooms and shower building does not have AC, so showering on a 100 degree day doesn’t make much sense. Other campers were smoking cigarettes in the bathroom buildings, didn’t see any campground hosts to make aware of this, I reserved a nice waterfront site and woke up to another camper’s pontoon boat tied up to the shore in front of my site.
Very nice campground with spacious sites, however the hillbilly locals seem to ruin it on the weekends by being completely inconsiderate of other patrons.

Park attendants do not make rounds like they should and only the sheriff and park rangers seem to be lit and about on the weekends. No check-in or check out procedures so there’s no one making sure you are on your reserved lot. Beautiful area tho

Campground was well kept and quiet for a holiday weekend. Was able to take my kayak on a nice loop pass to see the sunrise. I will be back here for sure!

Dog Creek is an excellent very quiet and family oriented campground. It has a beach for your family’s enjoyment. The volunteers are excellent especially the Lush’s. They are constantly trying to make the campground better for everyone. Mr. Lush keeps the beach sand in good shape and he has also cleaned a short hiking trail for everyone to enjoy. They are always ready to help anyone needing assistance. The campground has alot of shade and several water sites, but basically you can see the lake from probably 90% of the sites. Overall, I haven’t found a better campground anywhere in this area. Thanks guys for a job well done. Your work is greatly appreciated.
