I have to say the park is absolutely beautiful and has the potential to be an enjoyable stay !!
The so called Park assistant , Larry , is very unpleasant. He tried to enforce so called rules that didn't exist. He was constantly getting on to you about nothing. We had to eventually call a park ranger to get relief from Larry .
I advise you to park as far away from the main gate as possible. We were parked in the woods section and was watched to the point of being uncomfortable.
Larry was overheard twice talking to our neighbors about our group .
It would be a real asset for the park to let him go .

Very nice site ....although the picnic table was not usable...had ants so bad you could not even put a rag on the table without dozens of little ants ...bring ant spray. The site has a very nice water veiw. Host were very friendly also.

We always have a good time at the Canal. The new people are very nice and very helpful. The bathrooms seem to be cleaner than in the past. We are going again 4th of July.

Thanks to the wonderful camp hosts and the guy that does all the work around the camp everything was wonderful.
Bathrooms were clean daily. Beach was nice even though it rained. Wonderful sight with great neighbors.

Always a wonderful stay at Canal.
Our spot was great. If you don’t mind overlooking 3 camping spots. Didn’t bother us, for our neighbors were wonderful. It was a rainy weekend so we stayed at the camper a lot more than usual. Didn’t mind at all … wonderful stay.

We always enjoy our visits to Canal Campground, especially the sites in the View Loop. This particular site, however, did not offer the same open water view as many of the others, although we could still catch glimpses of the water through the trees.
One thing we really appreciate about the View Loop in general is the extra space between sites compared to the rest of the campground, which gives it a more open and relaxed feel.
The site itself was fairly level side to side, but we did have to raise the front of our trailer higher than we were comfortable with in order to get it level front to back.
In terms of connectivity, we were able to pick up five over-the-air TV channels. Verizon data service was limited and only worked reliably near the front of the site by the road.
We will definitely return to this campground, although we would probably choose a different site next time.
