Great shade and excellent sites on the canal. Deer calmly walk around the park. The staff is great. A plus is excellent restaurants close by.

Canal Campground is very nice, shady spots and with water veiw. A large campground but quiet. Host are very nice and helpful. We love staying here...Grand RIvers town has alot to see also and is a short distance from the campground

Access to dump sites was fantastic. Bathhouse needs a deep clean. I didn't like the excessive golf cart cruising while playing music.

The campground is accessible via Interstate I-24, with the Grand Rivers Exit 31 located nearby. From the exit, travelers can take Highway 453 south for approximately 4 miles to reach the campground.

General
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District firewood policy is now in effect and seeks the public’s cooperation to prevent the spread of forest insects and disease at campgrounds in the Cumberland River Basin. The firewood policy requires visitors at Lake Barkley’s campgrounds to use only firewood that has been certified as heat-treated by U.S. Department of Agriculture or state natural resource agency.
