My campsite was wonderful. It was easy to get into with my camper. It was also a good size.
The hosts and hostesses were all very nice.
The only thing that could have been better was the cleanliness of the shower.

Canal campground is a really nice, clean & quiet place to camp. The attendants are such sweet people.
The Lite Side Bakery is a great breakfast or lunch eatery and Cabin Pizza is good also.
If you don’t have a boat for the lake and have kids Venture River is a good water park close by.

This was our first time at Canal. Beautiful lakes and area. Roads in camp ground area were very bad. Aging pavement, holes, washed out trenches. Sites were mostly too small for todays campers, and hard to back into without damaging something. We camp at COE parks in Tennessee that have none of these problems. There was no company that came and cleaned up camp sites when they were vacated. I picked up a Walmart bag full of trash on my site 44. COE parks in Tennessee are much cleaner and maintained daily. COE parks are still the best places to camp if they are maintained!

The Canal campground is beautiful!
The problems are the lake. We like to swim and kayak, the water was muddy and the stench was horrid stemming from the dead fish that floated by every day. We spoke to park attendant and he stated the poor condition of the water had been reported
To the Corp of Engineers. It was a long drive from our home and we will not choose to visit that campground in the future.
