We love this place! We are new to Kentucky and started looking for campgrounds almost a year ago. After visiting at least 20 over a 6 month period that were either rundown or merely ok, we just happened to drive by Canal and said we would give it a look before heading home. Glad we did, didn’t see a bit of trash, no gravel roads, restrooms/showers immaculate. Drove through all the camp areas and checked off all the best (looking to us) spots. We have now stayed at Canal 5 times this year in 5 different sites and have not had 1 issue. Still have 3 more sites booked this year and looking forward to each. Have brought the grandkids 2 times already and they love this place. If you have a boat, they have a great launch/park. Our rating- 8.8 (out of 10). Happy travels!

We have been camping at the Canal Campground for three years. The attendants at the check-in booth are very friendly and helpful. Bringing our golf cart (no extra fee) is a bonus. We love driving it into Grand Rivers to eat at Cabin Pizza, Patti’s or Craig’s Dairy. You also can drive to Lighthouse Landing or Green Turtle Bay. Grand Rivers is surrounded by Kentucky Lake on one side and Barkley Lake on the other side. A very unique little town!❣️❣️

We have been camping at the canal campground for about 20 years. It’s a nice place to stay but recently our friends Ed and Kay retired and now it is incredibly hard to please the folks at the gate entrance. Hopefully they will understand sooner than later what camping is all about and how to let families enjoy there time with each other without constantly being reprimanded.
