What Guests Are Saying
The Grayson Lake Damsite Shelter is clean, spacious, and wheelchair accessible, making it an excellent choice for events like birthday parties. However, there was an issue with a previous reservation overlapping, causing some inconvenience and mess. Additionally, parking was limited due to park visitors, suggesting a need for clearer signage regarding reservations.

The shelter was very clean and ready for us to use. It was wheelchair accessible and perfect for the birthday party we had. Plenty of space for everyone and perfect for kids!

Although we had a great party for my daughter's birthday, we got to the shelter at 2pm and there was a family already set up for a baby shower. I had to show them where I paid $85 to rent the shelter. They asked me for what time and I told them the whole day and I needed to set up for my daughter's party before the guests arrived. They told me it wasn't on the bored but I went and showed them that it did infact say reserved for Sat. May 10th. They asked if they could eat and finish. I told them I didn't have time and would need it to be cleaned up. It took them 30 minutes to finish and they cleaned most of the stuff but did leave a mess on the ground of trash, food and balloons. Also the trash cans where now full from their party so it was hard to clean up after our party. I wish there had been a number to call to have someone come and make them leave and take their mess with them. Definitely inconvenient for me. Also people kept showing up to play at the park which is fine but there were about 6 cars there and my guests had no where to park. I put 7 car parking on the reservation and wasn't able to park 7 cars because of all the people showing up at the park. I think the shelter and parking lot need big signs for the day of reservations that say reserved.

We also use the electric to keep our food hot with slow cookers.
This year we were very disappointed cause we had no power to use. We try to find a park person to help with the power ,but no luck. I found out by calling back up to the Park Wednesday and was told there was a problem with the power for three months with a broken wire under the ground. I feel we should had been notify of the problem with the electric before us going 9-03-2022.
So we could took a gas grill or something else. Thank You.

We rented shelter site 1 at Grayson lake. This in my opinion is the most scenic shelter there. It overlooks the lake and dam. It has a big park right below it, along with a bench and a really nice gazebo with a swing. The only thing I didn’t like was my name wasn’t put on the board by the shelter saying that I had reserved it. If I hadn’t arrived there when I did someone would have been set up and it would have been a mess trying to explain that I had already reserved it and they would have to find another location. Other than that, everything was in great shape and clean. Will definitely rent there again!

Great location. However, an order was coming from the outside toilet every time the wind blew.
